British National Formulary (BNF)

The BNF is a rapid reference for UK residents published by the British Medical Association and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. It offers tools such as calculators for BMI, CrCL, BSA and imperial-metric conversion.

Electronic Medicines Compendium (eMC)

This is the British equivalent to the CPS in Canada.  It contains product monographs as well as patient information.

Compendium of Smoking Cessation Services and Programs

Health Services/ Technology Assessment Texts (HSTAT’s)

Provides full-text documents including clinical practice guidelines.

National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)

NICE is part of the UK National Health Service (NHS), and its role is to provide guidance on current “best practice” on the use of individual health technologies (including medicines, medical devices, diagnostic techniques, and procedures) and the clinical management of specific conditions.

MediLexicon

A website that has a dictionary of pharmaceutical medicine with definitions of acronyms and abbreviations.  Other useful information, such as drug and disease information, can also be found.
